A lot has changed since my last post. I'm not really very good at keeping up....
I am now showing my original artwork only at the Mirabelle Inn and Wandering Dog Wine Bar - both in downtown Solvang, California. My jewelry is no longer at Carina Cellars in Los Olivos, but also being shown at the Mirabelle Inn. In addition to these two permanent locations, I will be trying to attend an outdoor Artist Boutique at Whole Foods in Santa Barbara on July 6 and August 31 of this year showing my art (prints and originals), jewelry and knitted items. Previously, the event was monthly, but they have reduced it to six events in 2013 - three of which occurred on Feb 9, March 30 and May 11. All were a great success....
As the holidays roll around, I will have several events at that time. I don't yet know the dates and will update this site accordingly when I find out when and where.
I have continued to paint the California Missions, iconic sites around Santa Barbara, vineyards, and other sites that strike my fancy; many paintings originate in the imagination of my mind. Most of my work is still in watercolor, but I have also been trying to learn acrylic painting and have sold a few of those also. A small slideshow is on this blog and - if you are interested in seeing the entire slideshow of my past works, please email me and I will happily send it to you. From almost any of those paintings, I can "repaint" another; I also do commissions from photographs, so feel free to send me a photo and I'll let you know if it is something that I can paint for you.
The jewelry has taken a small diversion. I am still creating the gemstone jewelry of before but have also begun making "woven" necklaces. These neclaces are made with gemstones also, but instead of being strung on a wire or silk thread, they are woven into a pattern with a very fine thread. Both can be seen at the Mirabelle Inn and pictures are available upon request.
Finally, the knitting has taken a turn also. I have increased the inventory of the children's items to include baby leggings to wear with dresses or onesies, blankets that are smaller than crib size so that they will work well with a carseat (these come in sets with a hat or toy and socks), tooth fairy pillows, and stuffed toys made from soft plush materials or knitted by hand (favorites include the traditional sock monkeys, sock dogs - made from socks with irresitable embroidered faces), teddy bears and bunnies Alsongside the children's knits and due to numerous requests, I am now knitting adult sized cardigans, vests, and jackets as well as the very popular knitted fingerless mittens. All are made from high quality yarns of silk, linen, cotton and wool.
Please email me if you wish to veiw any othe above or - better - come by and say "hi" at one of my outdoor events.
